Data Rack Access Control Systems
Data racks in server rooms house some of the most important physical equipment used within an organization. “Business as usual” critically depends on the proper function of servers, the network, and company data files. Controlling physical access to data racks not only prevents unauthorized access but allows an organization to compile an audit trail of user access for individual data racks.
The Data Rack Access Control (DRAC) system uses a card reader associated with your existing or a new Card Access System software, electric locks on each rack door, and the necessary control hardware to make the system function. By presenting a valid card to the reader at the data rack, your organization will know who went into which rack when, thereby providing robust accountability and the ability to handle special situations, changing staff, and contractors/visitors most effectively within your server rooms.
Simple programming changes within the software allow you to determine who can access what racks when providing ultimate flexibility while maintaining tight controls within an organization with multiple classifications of personnel.
DRACS is ideal for large organizations with the need for a defined perimeter and tight controls within closer proximity to valuable equipment. It can also be used as a verification tool for help desk ticket remediation or as a forensic tool by recording each instance of human interaction with specific equipment.
File Cabinet Access Control
Many organizations store Personal Identifying Information (PII) or other important data inside filing cabinets, often accessible with just a mechanical key or not even locked. In a busy office environment information within these cabinets may be vulnerable to being accessed by unauthorized personnel. The M3T Controlled Access Filing Cabinet System may be an appropriate solution to provide auditable access control to either legal or letter size filing cabinets.
The system uses a card reader associated with your existing or a new Card Access System software, electric locks on each cabinet drawer, and the necessary control hardware to make the system function. By presenting a valid card to the reader at the filing cabinet, one drawer at a time may be opened. Your organization will know who went into which cabinet when thereby enhancing the chain of custody to valuable information stored within.
Simple programming changes within the software allow you to determine who can access what cabinets when providing tight controls regardless of how your personnel assignments or storage methodologies vary.
ILS (Intelligent Locking System) Locks
For applications on interior doors, these locks provide a cost effective alternative to have auditable access control on doors for much less than a fully wired access control door. These locks also provide so much more than a conventional push button cypher lock.
- Standalone or wireless versions available
- Great application for dorm rooms, inside offices, remote building locations
- Works with Prox, iClass, and magnetic stripe cards
- Can use the existing cards in your facility
