ACCC 2025: Blazing New Trails in Security Technology

In October, our team had the privilege of attending the Axis Connect & Converge Conference (ACCC) 2025, an invitation-only gathering of top systems integrators and distributors.

The event highlighted Axis Communications’ ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and partner success, offering an inside look at new technologies, emerging trends, and strategic insights for the security industry.

The conference opened with keynote presentations from Axis, emphasizing their business strategy of being “a joy to do business with” and showcasing exciting product innovations.

A major highlight was the introduction of the ARTPEC-9 chip, which offers 50% more CPU power, three times the analytic performance of its predecessor, and 20% savings in bitrate. Perhaps most notably, ARTPEC-9 supports AV1, a modern video encoding standard optimized for internet transmission and already adopted by major tech companies like Google, YouTube, and Microsoft.

AV1 promises up to 40% bandwidth savings without sacrificing resolution, making it a significant advancement in video efficiency.

Throughout the conference, exhibitors from across the industry showcased their latest solutions. Milestone announced a shift to automatic three-year renewals for care packages, while WaitTime demonstrated AI software capable of monitoring crowd behavior and density in real time, particularly useful for high-traffic locations like airports and amusement parks.

Leela.ai highlighted its ability to combine visual sensors with AI algorithms to conduct continuous time and motion studies in manufacturing environments, optimizing staff deployment and identifying safety or ergonomic hazards.

MobileSecurity.Net demonstrated a solar-powered security trailer capable of providing up to ten days of power without sunlight, underscoring the growing importance of mobile and flexible security solutions.

The conference also provided insights into broader industry trends shaping security in 2025. Axis emphasized the evolution of the channel, the rise of intelligent automation, and the shift from traditional video surveillance to visual intelligence. IT and operational technology are increasingly converging, creating new opportunities for integrators to streamline efficiency and provide greater value to end users. The event also highlighted the systemic undervaluation of security, and the importance of platform aggregation, managed services, and emerging mobile credential standards to meet the evolving needs of clients.

One of the most compelling sessions focused on body-worn cameras. Axis demonstrated that these devices are no longer limited to law enforcement, showing applications in evidence collection, deterrence, and training. Axis’ product line includes options for live streaming, long battery life, and lightweight designs, all with tamper-proof verified video and no subscription contracts, providing significant cost savings compared to competitors.

A panel discussion on operational intelligence reinforced the importance of using AI to automate tasks rather than replace human judgment. Panelists emphasized that integrators don’t need to understand the underlying AI algorithms but must be adept at identifying customer challenges and mapping them to appropriate solutions. The discussion also highlighted the need for clear scopes of work and measurable KPIs when deploying AI solutions to ensure successful outcomes.

Case studies shared during the conference underscored the competitive advantage of specialized Axis knowledge. For example, the partnership between Kalahari Resort and integrator NWOSS demonstrated how standardizing on Axis cameras and the ACS platform simplified deployment, reduced long-term maintenance costs, and accelerated project timelines. Having an integrator familiar with Axis products allowed for a smoother transition and highlighted the value of certifications and specializations in driving faster, more efficient project cycles.

ACCC 2025 left attendees inspired and informed, offering a comprehensive view of the innovations, strategies, and tools shaping the future of security. From ARTPEC-9 analytics and AV1 video encoding to body-worn cameras and AI-powered operational intelligence, the conference showcased how Axis continues to empower its partners with solutions that combine efficiency, quality, and value, enabling them to deliver measurable results for clients.
